An inspiring year-end reflection on spirituality, self-growth, mental health, and becoming the woman you’re meant to be.
Wow… where do I even begin? This past year has been an absolute blessing—one that changed me in ways I never expected. As the New Year approaches, I’ve been taking a step back to reflect, appreciate, and truly acknowledge the growth that 2025 brought into my life.
If you’re a woman in your 20s or 30s, juggling work, relationships, responsibilities, and your own self-development, I know you’ll understand how transformative a single year can be. And if you’re entering a season of reflection yourself, I hope my story inspires you to choose courage, prioritize your well-being, and step confidently into your next chapter.
Let’s talk about the blessings, breakthroughs, and beautiful moments that shaped my year.
Beginning My Spiritual Journey: Reconnecting With Faith After Years Away
One of the biggest personal transformations I experienced this year was beginning my spiritual journey and prioritizing God in my everyday life.
To be honest, I had been wanting to explore my spirituality for a while, but like many women navigating hard seasons, I struggled with doubt. When life challenges you, it’s easy to ask:
“If there is a God, why am I going through this?”
I’ve had moments where I felt overwhelmed, confused, or completely alone. I questioned my purpose. I questioned the timing of things. I questioned everything.
But this year felt different. Something in my heart knew I needed grounding—something deeper than routine or ambition. I needed peace. I needed clarity. I needed a foundation. And for me, that foundation became Christianity.
Going Back to Church After Nearly Two Decades
On the first Sunday of the New Year, I went back to church for the first time in 15–20 years. I was nervous. I felt out of place. I wondered if the Christian community would accept me after being gone for so long.
Honestly? I even felt like a fraud.
But I kept going—Sunday after Sunday. And after a few months, something amazing happened:
I felt God’s presence in my life.
I felt supported. I felt guided. I felt a softness and strength in my heart that I hadn’t felt in years.
The Most Important Lesson: Grace & Forgiveness
Church taught me the beauty of grace and forgiveness—not only toward others, but toward myself.
- Grace for who I used to be
- Forgiveness for mistakes I’ve made
- Compassion for the person I’m becoming
Letting go of negativity and choosing kindness genuinely changed my outlook on life. It created space for peace, gratitude, and emotional freedom—things I didn’t realize I had been missing.
And whether you believe in God or not, that lesson holds true for all women:
You must release what’s weighing you down to become who you are meant to be.
The Courage to Quit My Toxic Job: Reclaiming My Power
Another major turning point this year was finally leaving a toxic job—a decision that took all the courage I had.
Anyone who has bills, responsibilities, or financial goals understands how terrifying it is to leave a stable job, even when the environment is draining your spirit. I was being overworked, undervalued, and honestly, disrespected.
The Moment Everything Changed
My breaking point came when my Director pulled me aside and told me:
- My manager had quit because of me
- I would be doing her job for months
- I wasn’t allowed to say no
- If I refused, I would be fired
It felt manipulative. It felt wrong. It felt like blackmail.
And that next morning at 5 AM, I sent my resignation email—effective immediately.
The relief I felt was instant.
The weight lifted off my shoulders was indescribable.
Leaving Wasn’t Losing—It Was Liberation
The pay was good. And these are tough times. But nothing—not money, not fear, not pressure—is worth sacrificing your health, your confidence, or your self-respect.
And ladies, hear me loud and clear:
NO ONE has the right to make you feel inadequate.
NO JOB is worth losing yourself.
Quitting that job was the moment I reclaimed my pride, my peace, and my life. It opened the door to self-reflection, clarity, and new opportunities. I finally had time to think about what I want for my future—and who I want to become.
Finding Myself Again: A Season of Mental Clarity and Self-Discovery
After leaving that job, I entered a chapter of self-discovery that gave me something I desperately needed: mental clarity.
I slowed down.
I reflected.
I listened to myself for the first time in a long time.
I’m young. I have time. And for once, I wasn’t running on autopilot. This season helped me reconnect with passions, explore new possibilities, and figure out what actually makes me happy.
Sometimes stepping back is the most powerful step forward.
A Core Memory: Experiencing My First UFC Event in Nashville
Now let’s talk about one of the most fun highlights of my year—my first UFC event!
Around July 2025, I had the chance to visit Nashville, Tennessee, one of my absolute favorite cities. My boyfriend and I watch UFC every Saturday night, so when we found out Derrick Lewis was fighting while we’d be in town, we had to go.
And it was incredible.
The Vibe, The Energy, The Knockout
The atmosphere outside the arena was electric. You could hear country music drifting in from Broadway while thousands of fans gathered.
We ate chili cheese dogs, drank beer, and soaked up the excitement.
And then… Derrick Lewis got a knockout.
If you’re a UFC fan, you know that feeling. The energy. The adrenaline. The pure thrill. It’s unmatched.
It’s one of those experiences that becomes a core memory—something you’ll talk about for years.
Sober October & Prioritizing My Health: A Month That Changed Me
Another major positive this year was participating in Sober October.
I’m not a heavy drinker, but I am a social drinker—and I knew I wanted to challenge myself. So I committed to a full month without alcohol.
And the benefits blew me away.
The Results of Cutting Back on Alcohol
Within weeks, I noticed:
- Better sleep
- Clearer skin
- Less bloating
- Improved mood
- Reduced anxiety
- Sharper focus
- More motivation
The mental clarity alone was worth it. For the first time in a long time, I felt truly aligned—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
This wasn’t about perfection. It wasn’t about being “sober forever.”
It was about proving to myself that I could prioritize my health and thrive without depending on habits that weren’t serving me.
Stepping Into a New Season of Confidence & Growth
Looking back, 2025 was the year I:
- Rediscovered my faith
- Learned to practice grace
- Found the courage to leave a toxic job
- Prioritized my health
- Reconnected with myself
- Experienced unforgettable adventures
- Gained more mental clarity than ever before
I have never felt so confident, ambitious, or capable.
Every woman deserves to feel this way.
And if you’re reading this thinking, I want that too, let me remind you:
Your life can change at any moment.
All it takes is one brave decision at a time.
Gratitude for 2025—and Hope for What’s Ahead
As I head into the New Year, I’m incredibly grateful for the headspace I’m in, the lessons I’ve learned, and the blessings God has given me.
2025 was transformational. It challenged me, strengthened me, and shaped me.
And now? I’m excited.
Excited for new opportunities.
Excited for growth.
Excited for the woman I’m becoming.
Here’s to another year of becoming the best version of ourselves.
Here’s to faith, healing, courage, and confidence.
Here’s to you—and here’s to the future. ✨
